An excerpt from the minds of the dancers.

1. How were your school days?  What was growing up like and what did physical fitness meant to you?

Answer: I began to get involved in sports at the age of 15-that is when I got involved with dance as well. I used to compete in running and also played softball and other sports. After school, I would go home and dash for the aerobics class, further I was immersed and leaned so much that I pursued to teach fitness. It was a total hobby that became a true passion.

2.Did someone inspire you?

Answer: No one inspired me however, my father did have a heart problem and that coupled with reverse-psychology inspired me to keep myself fit and strong and do everything I can to be healthy, after all I am a chip of the block.

3.How did you discover this hidden talent in yourself? Was this something you knew would sell?

Answer: I discovered the fact that I wanted to introduce my culture to the fitness industry but I was not sure how to go about doing it. I have been teaching fitness for years and have been teaching Indian dance to the Indian community for just as long. Working at a PR agency may stir me to work for a concept like mine. I knew I would be able to see it since this is the first that Indian dance is being introduced to the fitness industry at a global level and I know I am good at teaching a fitness class.

4.Most people like to commercialize a product, since this is also a product, the video, does bring out the best in people to feel good about them, and would you have chosen another business if you knew your talents were in that?

Answer: I would do both businesses! I love business and love to be creative and bring something new to the table for people to use or feel good about them.

5.What were your goals in life and how did you arrive at this?

Answer: I knew I wanted to have my own business and when I started to think about pursuing an actual career in the fitness industry - I did not expect it would take off so fast as I have seen it. People now know me as the masala Bhangra workout girl!

6.where would you like to go from here? What do you wish to see in 5 or 10 years down the road?

Answer: I would like to go beyond what I am doing - like to be this inspiring fitness guru, who I am in my own world of my followers, however I want to touch the lives of many. I want to create other workouts, which are in the conscious world of my followers, however, I want to touch the lives of many. I want to create other patterns of workouts which are in the works at the moment.

7.when there are celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Brittany Spears, who are into music, do you like to sing for an audience or do something different that may sell?

Answer: I would love to sing for an audience - if I could sing that would be awesome. Maybe someday I will think about taking lessons and getting serous about it. I know I can move well on stage!

8.Since there are so many fitness clubs all over the US, how would you compete without having to disclose the marketing strategy?

Answer: My Concept is very different that of other fitness regimes out there. I have created an Indian dance workout, which is very different from that of the mainstream. Everyone in a club want something new - they want a class that will be moving and not a pattern that doesn’t change.

9.How is your personal life? Do you feel busy all the time? Do you have someone to share your time with? What do you feel about him?

Answer: I am busy all the time but if I met the right person, I would make the time for this special one and I would want him to join me and help me make my business better - all I know is that I am ready to meet that one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
